Alaska State Reps go to DC

Alaskan state reps (yes the same part-timers I spoke about in a previous post) are heading to DC next week make a pitch for drilling in ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge). Now this is an egregious abuse of office, in my opinion. Not because our representatives shouldn't speak for us in DC, but because we have elected federal representation to handle this sort of thing and on this topic with this congress in an election year, even my sophomore in high school son realizes they are wasting time and money with this trip. On the positive side, if they aren't in Juneau, they can't vote to waste more state money or increase my property taxes.
