TEA! (Taxed Enough Already) Party

I thought I would take some time to refute the ridiculous claims of many in our country, liberals and Republicans alike, that TEA party folks are “extreme” or “far right”. You can believe what you want in America, but that doesn’t mean what you believe is fact. The TEA Party is nothing more than a grass roots effort to stop the federal government from wasting our damn money.  Of course, like any other movement there will be elements that tag along. In the case of the TEA Party, right to lifers and social conservatives jumped onboard because they too want to limit the size and scope of the federal government.  Federal taxation is a balancing act and right now it is way off center. Of course we need to have social safety nets to avoid the homeless camps in every major city or park in America, and no one wants an injured American to die in the streets or kids to go hungry (as if they could with billions in food aid every year, unless their parents suck, oh wait that’s another topic).  In fact, no one in any party has ever advocated for a “you’re completely on your own” system. However, at some point, each American has a responsibility to do something to help him or herself.  Let’s take Obamacare for example (after all it’s the biggest entitlement in the history of the country).  The purpose of Obamacare, according to whitehouse.gov:

“Health Care that Works for Americans
On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, putting in place comprehensive reforms that improve access to affordable health coverage for everyone and protect consumers from abusive insurance company practices.”

The primary purpose of Obamacare, according to its namesake is to “improve access to affordable health coverage”. I said long before this law passed that you can’t add 30M or 40M people to a healthcare system without astronomical increases in cost to those in the system. It’s simple economics. Since those people weren’t either; A-using existing Medicaid (which is free for poor people) or B-buying a scam artist plan that the president claims existed everywhere, perhaps they have chosen (like a free people do) not to have insurance. Some of them are probably derelict or indigent and know no better. I doubt they are logging on to healthcare.gov with their tablet to get Obamacare right now. I also bet some of them self-insure or choose not to purchase assuming the risk. In fact (see unlike a liberal I won’t toss out accusations without some facts), according to a survey released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (http://www.cdc.gov/), 46.3 million Americans, or about 15.4%, did not have health insurance coverage in 2009. Of the uninsured people, a survey done in by Gallop in 2013 states, “a substantial minority, currently 28%, say they are more likely to pay the government fine imposed for not having insurance. What does all that mumbo jumbo mean?

It means we are completely transforming our healthcare insurance system and your access to it and somewhere around 13M of the people we are all trying to “help” could care less. Exactly whom do you people think will be paying for the rest of the folks jumping on the Obamacare rolls?  This country has a labor participation rate of 62.8% of the 58.3% of the population who are in the 16 to 64 year old category in Oct 2013 according to the bureau of labor statistics (http://www.bls.gov/). What does all that mean?  Well, 58.3% of about 330M Americans makes our total workforce about 193M able bodied folks and only 121M of them are actually working as of Oct 2013 (add one more, since I am unemployed now too).  Quick estimates make that a 3 to 1 ratio of working and the not so much. The only way to make that work is by increasing the cost to the 1 in that ratio and those means more taxes, or as liberals are now calling them “contributions”.

So, I conclude my “right wing nut job” rant by saying to America; I am TEA and so are you. Get your head out of your butt before it is too late, and we destroy our economy chasing a liberal utopia. If you think I am overstating the facts, feel free to take a look at Detroit, a microcosm of America and a city dominated by liberalism for the last 50 years.  No one in the real TEA Party wants to take away anyone’s liberty, PERIOD. We just want to preserve it for future generations of Americans.
